Credo Staff
David Waters (at left) is the Sales Manager. David has been with Credo since May of 2003. David has been very successful promoting and generating sales into academic and public institutions of all sizes. David has also assisted in marketing Credo in many ways. David also handles our public webinars for non-Credo customers. David lives by the motto ‘no librarian left behind’ which refers to the relentless pursuit of educating librarians about the benefits of Credo. Prior to Credo, David worked for a startup dot com called Paythrough (an Idealab company) and a technology training company called Instruction Set. David majored in Psychology at Ithaca College and Suffolk University.
Jackie LaPlaca Ricords (above) is our Credo Evangelist. She has an academic background in education policy, history, and economics and has completed research projects at the University of Pennsylvania, a Rotary International Fellowship in England and Spain, as well as a NEH Fellowship in Rome. Jackie spent 10 years coordinating education non-profits, faculty professional development programs, and government projects in the areas of educational technology, service-learning, and diversity for institutions in the UK, Ohio and Pennsylvania. She also works closely with LibrariesThriving.org.
Nancy King (not pictured) is the Technical Product Manager at Credo Reference and is responsible for guiding the planning of Credo products, managing product and customer requirements, and Credo's usability testing. Prior to joining Credo, Nancy received her MSLIS from Simmons College during which she worked at a number of libraries. Before making the leap into the library world, she guided the user experience design team at Gomez, a technology firm that measured Internet services quality, and specialized in information architecture and user-centered design at an Internet strategy and design firm. Nancy has an MA and BS from Carnegie Mellon University.
Heather Blaine Wiegand (at right) is the Director of Marketing at Credo Reference and is responsible for managing conferences, events,
public relations and our partnerships with library consortia. Heather has over 15 years of experience in the library industry having worked at Gale, Blackwell Publishing and Prenax, Inc before joining Credo Reference in June 2008. She has an MBA from Boston College and a BA from Clark University. Her personal interests include cycling, reading and cooking. She recently took up rock climbing as a way to improve her relationship with heights.
Robert Deutsch (not pictured) is the Senior Marketing Director for Credo Reference and arrives at Credo after six years with IAC/InterActive Corp, the company behind such powerful properties such as Match.com, Ask.com, CitySearch, Evite and Life123.com,. He was a co-founder of Life123.com, where he created the content and product strategies that propelled that brand into its position in the IAC portfolio. Robert is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of marketing strategies around the growth and expansion of Credo’s product line.
James Slattery (at left) is a Credo Account Executive. James has been with Credo since January, 2006, and during that time James has been successful in selling to large library consortia, academic library groups, public library systems and hundreds of individual institutions. Prior to Credo, James worked in affiliate marketing for a dot com and marketing & film distribution for Gotham Entertainment Group - a leading producer and distributor of independent films based in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood. In 1994 James earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Babson College in Wellesley, MA.
Lisa Hill (not pictured) is Credo's Senior Library Relations Specialist. She is from the "Heartbeat of New England," Hartford CT. Lisa joined Credo in 2007. She has a BA in English from Boston College and her MLS at University at Albany. She has worked in all types of Libraries, including Academic, Special and Public.
Ingrid Becker (not pictured) is the Content Analyst for Credo Reference, working on collection development and assisting with publisher relations and content product management. Ingrid joined Credo in 2008 as a part-term intern, and returned in 2011 to continue her foray into the world of libraries and digital learning. Ingrid graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston University in 2009 and a Master of Studies in 20th Century English Literature from Oxford University in 2010. Here at Credo she pursues her passion for books and the distribution of knowledge by helping to select the best possible reference works for inclusion in Credo’s products.

Anne Kail (left) Credo's Sales Director working from the Oxford office with responsibility for UK, Australia and Northern Europe. She brings a breadth of experience to Credo having worked in libraries, publishing, banking, tourism and the music industry. For the last 12 years she has worked with libraries in electronic resources sales and customer services at both Oxford University Press and Credo. Anne joined Credo in 2006 and has been instrumental in conceiving and developing our highly popular workshops to help librarians increase usage of their online resources.
Nichole Evans (right) is the pulse of the Credo Reference back office, as the Accounting and OperationsManager. She constantly strives for process improvement, highly efficient workflow and excellent customer satisfaction. She is the “go to” person in the office. Prior to joining Credo, Nichole spent over 20 years running operations and customer service at companies such as Atari, Airpacks, and other technology companies in the Boston area. She attended Salem State University and is from the North Shore of Boston, Gloucester, Massachusets. She is not a “Gloucester Fisherman” but she is related to a few. Nichole is currently working on her first novel and is a proud member of the NRA.
Bill Mott (not pictured) is an Account Executive for Credo and joined in 2010. Has spent the past twenty years in various sales positions in the library information services industry with companies like Britannica, CSA and ProQuest. Earned an MBA from Louisiana Tech University. Native of Louisiana, but has lived in North Texas for the past 12 years. Life long New Orleans Saints fan and member of the "Who Dat Nation."
Mary Weiss (left) is the Director of Sales, Public and Schools libraries for Credo Reference. She works with school and public libraries on the coordination of their information literacy programs and optimizations and installations of Credo Reference. Mary also works closely with Credo’s product development team to introduce the next generation of Literati by Credo, specifically tailored to the needs of K-12 and public libraries. She previously led a team at Gale, Cengage Learning where she developed several successful programs for Public and K-12 libraries.
John Shawler (not pictured) is a Credo Solutions Analyst. He brings a unique and valuable skillset with experience in education, technology, and library science. John has experience teaching in public schools in Maryland, Virginia, South Korea, and Thailand. He has also worked at Apple Computer. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Ohio University and a Master's Degree in Electronic and Digital Library Management from The University of Sheffield.
